COMING SOON…CLASS ALERTS
We are currently working on enabling families to receive Class Alerts through our school website. You will soon be able to register online through the Parent Registration for Alerts tab located on our Homepage to receive an alert via email for any changes or updates to your child’s Class Page on the website. The tab is already on our site but it is being tested. Please do not attempt to register as yet. We will advise when the registration is open. Please stay tuned for more information.
While we are working on the Class Alerts please note that you can take advantage of the RSS Feed in the Announcements and Upcoming Events sections of the homepage. For anyone not familiar with an RSS Feed, it is a format to deliver regularly changing web content. If you would like to know what is new in Announcements or Upcoming Events without always going to the website, just look for the orange box next to the content that you are interested in and click to subscribe. You will then be given prompts to subscribe through your internet browser. The feed will then be on your page of your browser, i.e. for MSN it will be on MY MSN, for AOL on MY AOL, for Yahoo on My Yahoo, for Google it will be in your alternative to Google Reader.
It has been brought to our attention that many families have not received our recent email blasts. We apologize for this. We are using our OptionC system which has caused emails for some to go to a spam folder. To ensure the receipt of future emails please add email@example.com to your contact list.
If you did not receive any emails about the opening of school and they are not in your spam folder please email the school at firstname.lastname@example.org Attn. Ms. Debbie. Please include your name, student's name and grade, telephone number and email address. Thank you.

The first phase of our Peaceful Playground at our Douglaston Campus was opened and dedicated on September 17, 2011. It encompassed the new playground equipment area and a grotto area. In the Summer of 2012 we completed the second phase of the program. The entire schoolyard was repaired and resealed and three new NBA caliber basketball goals were installed. Read more...
IN THE NEWS
Divine Wisdom in the NY Daily News December 2010 for sending aid to Haiti's kids.
Volunteer Group from Texas Comes to the Aid of DWCA
In the summer of 2012 a volunteer group of forty young people from Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Colleyville, Texas made a one-week mission trip to New York City. In addition to helping out at local hospice and community center, the volunteers found time to visit DWCA to lend a hand. There was plenty of back braking work to go around clearing out the downstairs and attic storage rooms in preparation for construction on the new Art Room and Nursery. The volunteers jumped right in, moved boxes, furniture and even an old Coke machine ( which they cleaned up “good as new”.) The only payment they expected was a sumptuous lunch of New York pizza – which DWCA volunteers were happy to provide. It was very refreshing to see these young people put their faith into action and actually be grateful for the chance to help.
Perhaps we can repay them one day with a mission trip to Texas, but only if Texas BBQ is on the lunch menu.
